A foreigner in Turkey has the opportunity to legalize, even if his visa is expired and his stay in the country becomes illegal. There is a conditional entry or «shartly girish» (şartlı giriş).
What you need to do to stay in Turkey legally, even after violating the visa regime:
Conditional entry
Step 1
You definitely need to pay the fine
Step 2
Leave the country and return within 24 hours
At the customs, you need to say the following phrase:
“Şartlı giriş yapmak istiyorum V84 ve 10 gün içinde ikamet alacam”
Which translates as: “I want to enter with the condition of obtaining a residence permit within 10 days on the basis of the V84 law.”
Step 3
Apply for a residence permit within 10 days
An important note: if you have already received a refusal for a residence permit on the basis of a rental agreement (tourist residence permit), then next time you need to apply for a different reason. For example, according to TAPU, i.e. ownership of real estate.
Other reasons to apply for a residence permit in Turkey: marriage to a Turkish citizen, studying at a local university, family reunion, etc.
Entry ban
The right of conditional entry cannot be used if an entry ban has already been received.
In addition, if a foreigner has not fulfilled the conditions and has not applied for a residence permit within 10 days, then he becomes an illegal immigrant. In this case, they face deportation and a ban on entry for a period of 3 months or more. The Migration Service strictly monitors all cases of conditional entry.
