A recent report by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says the temperature on Earth is rising by 1.1 degrees Celsius overall. Greenhouse gas emissions lead to certain consequences. As it turned out, Turkey is moving into tropical climates.
This was stated by the professor at Bogazici University Murat Turkesh. Drought in agricultural areas will reduce production in the future, he said. This can lead to higher food prices.
“Unless fast action is taken against anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, the global surface temperature of the Earth could rise above 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming decades,” Turkesh said.
