Regional elections in Antalya will be held on March 31, 2024. Citizens will be able to choose the mayors of their districts. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently announced the mayoral candidates of the AKP party. The incumbent head of the municipality, Adem Murat Yucel, has been nominated for the position of mayor of Alanya from the ruling party.
In addition to him, five other candidates are running for the role of Alanya mayor:
- Osman TarΔ±k ΓzΓ§elik from the ANP party
- Cem Sak from DEVA party
- Dr. Tahsin Biner from Victory Party
- MevlΓΌt Demir from the Future Party.
- Mehmet Εahin from the “Good Party” (IYI).
As a reminder, Adem Murat Yucel has been in office since 2014. His main rivals in this election are considered to be former president of the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) Mehmet Εahin and former district chairman of the Justice and Development Party Osman TarΔ±k Γzcelik.
