In the first 2 months of this year, more electric vehicles were sold in Turkey than in the first half of 2022. In January and February, citizens of the country bought 2,263 electric vehicles. This is 469.4% more than in the same period last year.

Gasoline cars are still the most popular in Turkey. In the first months of 2023, 65.5 thousand units were sold. The second place is occupied by diesel cars – 16.8 thousand units. They are followed by hybrid cars – 10 thousand units. LPG cars are in slightly less demand – 2.4 thousand units.

Electric vehicles in Turkey are actively gaining popularity due to the country’s environmental policy. The share of “green cars” is expected to increase with the launch of its own Turkish brand Togg on the market in 2023.
