Alanya Municipality has planned a number of events dedicated to International Women’s Day. On March 8, the exhibition “Almond Flowers” will open in Alanya, which will present the creative works of local women. According to Murat Yucel, mayor of the city of Adem, almond blossom symbolizes the awakening of nature, hope and heralds spring. The event will open at 14.00.
Also in Alanya on this day there will be a charity fair “One container, one house”. The market will be located at the entrance to the cultural center. All proceeds from sales of goods will be used to purchase containers for families left homeless after the earthquake.
In addition, as a gift to all the women of Alanya, on the eve of the holiday, the Municipality renewed the flower beds in the city. Tulips and hyacinths are now blooming and fragrant all over Alanya.
Although Turkey celebrates March 8, it is not a public holiday, but a normal working day.
