The European Organization for Air Navigation Safety (EUROCONTROL) has compiled the Top 5 busiest airports. In February, Istanbul International Airport again ranks first in terms of number of flights. From February 13 to February 19, an average of 1280 flights per day were made from the main airport in Turkey. This is significantly more than from any other airport in Europe.

The second place was taken by the airport of London – Heathrow from which an average of 1152 flights were made. Third on the list is Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with 1,121 flights. Also in the top five were the airports of Amsterdam (1051 flights) and Madrid (993 flights).

A large number of flights at Istanbul Airport is due to the fact that a huge number of volunteers from all over the world went to the country.
