In Istanbul will build 350 thousand houses per year in the next 5 years. This was announced the day before by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after a cabinet meeting.
“Our goal is to build 350 thousand residences in Istanbul every year and to renovate all buildings that need urgent reconstruction within 5 years,” Erdogan said.
The Turkish government is going to allocate TL 1 trillion in 2024 to renovate residences.
In the summer of last year, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Turkey prepared a renovation program for 600 thousand emergency houses in Istanbul. In general, citizens expect the reconstruction of 1.5 million houses that were damaged in the earthquake. It is assumed that some of the residents will be resettled in 200 thousand houses, which are going to be built on the Anatolian side.
