Nearly 200,000 apartment buildings and 74,000 private houses will be built in 11 provinces of Turkey affected by the earthquake. This was reported to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

TOKI has already begun work on the construction of new buildings. The height of apartment buildings will not exceed 3-4 floors. First of all, 45,000 houses will be built in Kahramanmarash. Also, 44.7 thousand buildings will be erected in Malatya, 40.4 thousand in Hatay, 25.8 thousand in Adiyaman. 18.5 houses will be built in Gaziantep.

The average area of the apartments will be 105 sq.m, of which 85 are living area. Private houses will have a 3+1 layout with an area of 93 sq.m.

At the moment, work has begun on 14.5 thousand projects. Recall, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised that the first 40,000 houses would be built within a year.
