More than 1.22 million housing units were sold in Turkey in 2023. This is 17% less than in the previous year. Such data was published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
During the past year, foreigners purchased in Turkey 35 thousand objects. The share of sales to foreign citizens amounted to 2.9% of the total number of sold real estate.
Foreigners purchased the most residential properties in Antalya and Alanya – 12.7 thousand units. The second place is occupied by Istanbul with 11.2 thousand sales. In third place was the city of Mersin with 3 thousand objects.
Among the foreigners who bought housing in Turkey, for the third year, the leader are Russians (10.5 thousand objects). They are followed by citizens of Iran (4.3 thousand) and Iraq (1.9 thousand). The top five include Ukraine (1.7 thousand) and Kazakhstan (1.4 thousand). In sixth place are citizens of Germany (1.3 thousand).
