The unprecedented project, the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Turkey, is entering a new stage. The shipment of steam generators for the second power unit of the Akkuyu NPP (NGS) has begun.

According to the statement of AEM-technology AŞ, which is part of the Atomenergomash machine-building division of Rosatom, 4 steam generators produced for the second unit of the power plant should be sent to the Akkuyu NPP site.

The steam generators, which will be delivered to the port of Tsimlyansk Russia dam by land, will be loaded onto a barge using a 650-ton overhead crane and shipped to Turkey by sea.

The first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP, which will consist of 4 reactors, each with an installed capacity of 1,200 megawatts, is scheduled to be commissioned in 2023.
