In the first two months of 2023, Turkey’s agricultural sector sold $5.4 billion worth of goods abroad. This is the highest export figure from Turkey in the entire historical period. For 2 months, such sales have not yet been observed.
The growth of exports of agricultural products amounted to 16% year on year. Export of fresh fruits increased by 18%. Among them, Turkish tangerines and oranges were the most popular. And of all the products, the leaders in sales are cereals, legumes and oil crops.
Among the provinces that provided the maximum amount of agricultural products, Istanbul, Mersin and Izmir are in the lead. Russia became the main importer this year. In second place is Spain, in third is the Netherlands.
