The export of goods from Turkey in the first month of 2023 amounted to $19.3 billion, which is 10% more than in the same month of the previous year. At the same time, imports to the country increased by 20.7% and amounted to $33.6 billion. These data was shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TΓΔ°K) in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade.
In January, Germany took the first place in terms of purchases of Turkish goods. Exports to this country amounted to $1.8 million. The second place is occupied by the United States with purchases of $1.2 billion, and the third by Russia, where goods worth $1 billion were sent. In addition, Turkish exports were actively sold to the UK and Italy.
But in terms of imports of goods, Russia took the first place. Turkey bought $5 billion worth of Russian goods. In general, trade relations between the countries continue to improve in the new year.
