Turkey's exports up 10% in January

The export of goods from Turkey in the first month of 2023 amounted to $19.3 billion, which is 10% more than in the same month of the previous year. At the same time, imports to the country increased by 20.7% and amounted to $33.6 billion. These data was shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade.

In January, Germany took the first place in terms of purchases of Turkish goods. Exports to this country amounted to $1.8 million. The second place is occupied by the United States with purchases of $1.2 billion, and the third by Russia, where goods worth $1 billion were sent. In addition, Turkish exports were actively sold to the UK and Italy.

But in terms of imports of goods, Russia took the first place. Turkey bought $5 billion worth of Russian goods. In general, trade relations between the countries continue to improve in the new year.
