Wage index in Turkey increased at 102.4%

Gross wage index in Turkey for the last quarter of 2022 increased by 102.4%. The largest growth was recorded in the sector of trade and services, where wages increased by 103.1%. In the industrial sector of Turkey, wage growth amounted to 102.4%, in the construction sector – 96.7%. This information was shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

In total, the hourly labor cost index increased by 12.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

During 2022 the minimum wage was raised several times in the Republic. The average annual wage growth in Turkey was 74.4%. Now the minimum wage is set at 8.5 thousand TL, which equals to $455 or 33 thousand rubles.
